How far does fame bring me?

Posted on August 22, 2018November 18, 2022 by chefswifediary

First day of fame, it feels amazing.

People love me.

People adore me.

People want a piece of me.

Because I am being the perfect me.

I didn’t want it to stop.

Fame is addictive and it’s a lot of hard work.

It can only grow more, not less.

As long as I portray what people yearn to see.

And hide the truth that people are not keen.

It is fairytale stories that keep them coming back for more.

Truth is mundane.

Truth is for the ordinaries.

Popularity doesn’t honour honesty.

Unless it’s a surprising.

Unless it’s inspiring.

Unless it put me closer to ultimate fame.

So I bury …

my uncool past,

my friends who knew me before the new me,

my background, my roots, and my heritage,

unless they bring me advantage.

For my new circle is what’s promising.

I am not sure how long my fame is to last.

I’ll just keep moving, and take challenges as they come.

Even if it requires sacrifices and thousands of apologies to people I truly love.

Because fame has taken the toll out of me.

I needed attention, more than anything in the world.

And there is no turning back.

I cannot imagine for one second if I lose them all.

“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” – Henry David Thoreau
