The Bright Side

“The grass is always greener on the other side.” ― Erma Bombeck

Keeping a positive mindset and believing that there is always something greater out there waiting for us to get them – That’s how we continuously build up courage to keep our dreams alive.

Having said that, it’s also important to make the best out of present moment. Constantly on the lookout for something better than today and constantly searching for a reason to change may deviate focus from our long term goal. It hinders us from giving our very best or even a fair chance to what we’re working on before deciding on next moves. No doubt there are many alternatives on the other side. No doubt they could potentially be our next big thing, but the current pasture is equally as valuable, could be part of something bigger, and should not be undermined.

Often we crave for what we do not have. We compare ourselves with others, find vents in between, and feel sorry for ourselves. We analyse all the absences in our life and find ways to reach them. Subconsciously, we aim for many goals and eventually down to nothing.

Despite there is so much going on at present, we’re often blindsided by the other side. Truth is, the grass is not necessary always greener on the other side.

Count our blessings and appreciate what we have today are equally pre-eminent.  As much as we see other side is greener, there are others who find our path is greener – like a cycle. It is crucial to ascertain the specific goal we aim to achieve, keeping in mind that not all goals are relevant to us.

“Even if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, keep to your own side; it’s where you belong. There you can plant your own grass and tend to it.” ― Richelle E. Goodrich

It’s good to keep looking forward but not forgetting the present. 🙂
